The deadline for my Contest (details for which are here: sailorgreywolf.deviantart.com/…) is tomorrow. So, I feel the need to tell you how I interpret the word "deadline"
This is how it is going to work:
I need to have your entry by tomorrow. If I have not gotten it by midnight tomorrow (my time, not yours. I am on Mountain Standard time), then it will not be accepted.
If you desperately need a day or two more, then you must talk to me about it by midnight tonight! Any later pleading will not be entertained, you have had at least 3 or 4 months to get your entry done.
And just so we are clear on what counts as a submission: I will count it when I have received either a comment or a message with a link to your finished artwork. You should post the comment or send the message before midnight, just to be certain.
Any questions? Comment on this journal and get them answered ASAP!

On Prussia's Education
There seems to be a strange idea floating around that Prussia is disinterested in books or more lofty subjects. Nothing could be further from the historical truth.
From a historical perspective, Prussia would have had one of the most comprehensive educations early in his life. For example, he would have been literate far earlier than any of the other countries. In the middle ages, very few people were literate, including the nobility and royalty. None of the countries who were raised in a court setting would have learned to read. The only parts of any given population who could read and had a sizable collection of book were monastic orders. P
On Austria's Canon Portrayal
The canon has serious problems with historical accuracies, and I notice them especially in the Germanic countries. This is not because the inaccuracies are the most egregious there, but because that is my area of specialization.
Austria is an interesting case, because the canon lines up fairly well with the modern stereotype of the country. He is the quiet one who would rather play piano and drink coffee than start wars or fight battles. When he is in a war, he is saved by Switzerland or Germany or his wife.
It seems to have escaped the notice of the canon that to maintain such a large empire for such a long time, Austria resorted to brutal
On Prussia's Relationship with his Father
I am certainly not going to make any friends with this head canon because Prussia’s good relationship with his father is one of the few things that the fandom almost universally agrees upon. But, I am going to explain why I believe they have a very poor, neglectful relationship.
I do not see Prussia as having a good relationship with his father, and this is grounded in Prussia’s earliest days. The earliest German presence in the area that would become East Prussia was the Teutonic Knights. The fact that Gilbert was the Teutonic Knights is canon. But, it is an important choice. There was a small electorate in Brandenburg as well, a

Okay. I'm uber sorry, but I didn't put a title on it. As far as I know, it's not necessary. So if you want "LEGACY" on the front, just tell me and I'll edit it. fav.me/d70ofg3
