Deviation Actions
This is the first time I have ever attempted one of these, so if it doesn't go as smoothly as most, I am sorry. With that disclaimer out of the way, let's get on to what the contest is actually about, because that's what anybody is actually here for, right? I'll bold all the important sections for everyone who just wants to skip over me talking too much (which is pretty understandable)
I have put a lot of heart and soul into writing my Mexico fanfiction "Legacy". Now, I want to put some art with the literature. However, my own ability to draw anything is rather constrained by time
The Task: Draw a cover for "Legacy"
- The basic idea is that if the story was a book/TV show/movie, what would the cover/promo poster look like?
- There are no hard and fast requirements, but the more of the characters/important symbols or scenes are included, the better your chances of winning
The Deadline: January 1st
I want to give you a lot of time so you can come up with something really amazing (That date also happens to be when my last college application is due).
-The deadline is 4 months away, but if you are thinking you will do the contest, I would like to see a comment on this journal so I can have some idea of how many people are involved.
- Note me when you finish your entry, just so I know
The Prizes:
- 1st Place: 665 points, a chibi from , a oneshot written by me an icon from, , 3 llamas, a one month feature and 1 constructive critique by , 1-2 character detailed chibi by , 1 character half body anime drawing by , and a 3 week feature by and Also, the exposure of accompanying every chapter of Legacy with the proper credit to you for the artwork
- 2nd Place: 330 points and a small drawing by , a chibi from , 3 llamas and an icon from , a feature by , a simple chibi by , and a 2 week feature by and
- 3rd Place: 210 points, a chibi from , 3 llamas , and an icon from , and a feature by , 1 simple chibi by and a one week feature by and
anyone else really wants to donate prizes, it would be much appreciated. But anyone who donates (unless it's just points), cannot partake in the contest and I would much rather have more people participating than have lots of people donating prizes.
Other points:
- You have plenty of time to actually read the fic, but since I have a tendency to only partially describe physical appearance when I write I have created short summaries of the appearance, which can be found here:
- I have drawn Piri (Philippines) , Annabelle (CSA) , Isabella (Brazil), Diego (Texas), and Alejandro (Mexico) and you can find those pictures in my gallery, you can use them for reference if you would like
I really hope that this contest can work out well, but if it is going to really be amazing, you are going to have to get the word out. Tell your friends (or enemies, either way). Please take part and good luck!

On Prussia's Education
There seems to be a strange idea floating around that Prussia is disinterested in books or more lofty subjects. Nothing could be further from the historical truth.
From a historical perspective, Prussia would have had one of the most comprehensive educations early in his life. For example, he would have been literate far earlier than any of the other countries. In the middle ages, very few people were literate, including the nobility and royalty. None of the countries who were raised in a court setting would have learned to read. The only parts of any given population who could read and had a sizable collection of book were monastic orders. P
On Austria's Canon Portrayal
The canon has serious problems with historical accuracies, and I notice them especially in the Germanic countries. This is not because the inaccuracies are the most egregious there, but because that is my area of specialization.
Austria is an interesting case, because the canon lines up fairly well with the modern stereotype of the country. He is the quiet one who would rather play piano and drink coffee than start wars or fight battles. When he is in a war, he is saved by Switzerland or Germany or his wife.
It seems to have escaped the notice of the canon that to maintain such a large empire for such a long time, Austria resorted to brutal
On Prussia's Relationship with his Father
I am certainly not going to make any friends with this head canon because Prussia’s good relationship with his father is one of the few things that the fandom almost universally agrees upon. But, I am going to explain why I believe they have a very poor, neglectful relationship.
I do not see Prussia as having a good relationship with his father, and this is grounded in Prussia’s earliest days. The earliest German presence in the area that would become East Prussia was the Teutonic Knights. The fact that Gilbert was the Teutonic Knights is canon. But, it is an important choice. There was a small electorate in Brandenburg as well, a
